Google Analytics 4 includes a lot of helpful reports. Let’s take a look at the best ones you can look at often to keep tabs on how your business is doing, and find ideas for how to improve it.

1. Overview (Reports snapshot)

GA4 reports snapshot: Best Google Analytics reports

The Reports snapshot report is a great way to get a quick glance at how your traffic is doing. It includes a bunch of “cards” with information on how much traffic you’ve had, where it came from, how those visitors found your site, and more.

Many of the cards also have links to the full report for easy navigation.

What you can learn from the reports snapshot:

  • Whether your traffic is trending up or down
  • How much eCommerce revenue you’ve made
  • What your top campaigns were
  • Which pages got the most views
  • And more

If your website is on WordPress, you can get an overview report right inside your WordPress dashboard, too!

The Overview report in MonsterInsights is the quickest, easiest way to see at-a-glance how your traffic is doing. It gives you a quick breakdown of some of your most valuable, everyday metrics like sessions, pageviews, devices, referral sources and more.

Use the report to:

  • Decide which pages to prioritize for updates

This report is one of the best Google Analytics reports because it gives you such a great look at where your traffic is coming from. Quickly see:

  • See which content your users are the most interested in

  1. Great post. This is something that I don’t know a lot about, but I really did enjoy the post. Clearly, I need to do much more than check my analytics once a week. This post helped me realize I need to up my game too.

    Thanks for this

    1. Hey thanks Jeff! Glad you found it helpful! Let us know if there are any specific reports you’d like more tips for.

      1. Hi there, I run several lead gen sites and am connected to Monsterinsights, am interested in Google Analytics but haven’t got around to delving deeper into it. Obliged if you can tell me the costs involved to upgrade from lite and does this cost cover all sites or is it priced individually ?

        1. Hey Craig, thanks for stopping by!
We have a couple different price levels with different features – you can take a look at the full detailed list on our Pricing page. The Plus plan covers one site, the Pro plan covers up to 5 sites, and the Agency plan covers up to 25 sites.

  2. I don’t run a business (I work for one but don’t maintain the web site). I maintain the web site for our local church. Over the past year we have had weekly “Service @ Home” and “Sunday School at Home” pages, and I use the Monster Analytics “Top posts/pages” report to assess the visit activity week by week. Notably and unsurprisingly, the figures went down when we started holding services in the building again.

    1. Hey Graham, thanks for stopping by! That makes sense, glad MonsterInsights is helping you see that data. Let us know if you need help measuring anything else!
