Announcing Google Ads in WordPress + 5 New eCommerce Reports

Most businesses running Google Ads campaigns have no idea which ads are actually driving sales. And if you’re running an online store, you’re probably spending way too much time digging through GA4 just to find basic information about your sales patterns and refund rates.

We built MonsterInsights 10.0.0 to fix both of these problems. This release includes a brand new Google Ads integration and 5 eCommerce reports that surface the data you actually need to make better decisions.

Let’s see what’s new!

Launch Google Ads Campaigns Directly from WordPress

Setting up Google Ads campaigns used to mean leaving your WordPress dashboard, navigating Google’s complex interface, and hoping you got everything right. Not anymore.

MonsterInsights is the best WordPress Analytics plugin. Get it for free!

MonsterInsights 10.0.0 adds a new Google Ads integration that lets you create and launch Performance Max campaigns without ever leaving WordPress.

Performance Max campaigns automatically show your ads across Google Search, YouTube, Gmail, and more from a single campaign setup.

This feature is available to all MonsterInsights users, even if you’re using the free Lite version.

How to Get Started

After updating to MonsterInsights 10.0.0, you’ll see a new Google Ads option in your WordPress menu.

Click on Google Ads, and you’ll land on the setup page.

Simply hit the Get Started button to launch the wizard:

The wizard walks you through creating your first campaign.

First, you’ll enter your business name:

Next, you’ll see a preview of your landing page on both mobile and desktop.

This shows you exactly what visitors will see when they click your ad, so you can make sure your site looks good on all devices:

Then you’ll choose your campaign goal. Pick from Purchase, Contact, Submit lead form, or Sign-up, depending on what you want people to do on your site:

The wizard then guides you through writing your ad copy.

You’ll create multiple headlines and descriptions, and see a live preview of how your ad will look:

You can also upload images and logos to make your ads more engaging:

Next, select the keywords your potential customers are searching for.

Google provides suggestions based on your website, so you don’t have to guess:

Then set your location targeting. You can advertise near a specific address with a radius you control, or target specific cities and regions:

After setting your budget and reviewing your campaign details, you’re done. Your ads will start running across Google’s entire network.

New to Google Ads? You’ll get $500 in ad credits when you spend your first $500 within 60 days (terms and conditions apply).

The real value here is simplicity. You don’t need to be a Google Ads expert to get started, and you can manage everything alongside your analytics without switching platforms.

5 New eCommerce Reports for Key Insights

If you run a WooCommerce or Easy Digital Downloads store, making sense of your eCommerce data shouldn’t require a degree in analytics.

These 5 new reports give you immediate answers to questions that used to take 20 minutes of clicking around GA4.

These reports require MonsterInsights Pro and the eCommerce addon. Once you have both, you’ll find them under Insights » Reports » eCommerce:

Let’s go over each of the new reports one by one.

Orders by Location

This report shows you exactly which locations are driving your sales.

Use the dropdown to switch between Country, State, or City views:

MI orders by location report

Each location shows you transaction counts, percentages, revenue, and average order value.

This helps you spot opportunities (maybe you’re doing surprisingly well in a market you didn’t know about) and make smarter decisions about where to focus your marketing efforts.

Spend by Day

Some days are just better for sales than others. This report shows you which days of the week drive the most revenue:

Use this information to time your promotions, email campaigns, and social media posts. If Saturdays consistently outperform Tuesdays, schedule your marketing accordingly.

Toggle between Revenue and Purchases views to see what matters most to your business.

Spend by Hour

This report takes things a step further by showing you which hours of the day are most profitable:

The chart tracks all 24 hours, so you can spot patterns like late-night shopping spikes or afternoon lulls.

This data helps you schedule flash sales during peak hours, adjust customer support coverage, and understand when your audience is actually ready to buy.

Refunds

Nobody likes dealing with refunds, but this report helps you understand which products are causing the most problems:

Scroll down to see exactly which products have the highest refund rates:

MI Products Refunded table

If one product has a 25% refund rate while others are at 5%, you know something’s wrong.

It could be the product description, quality issues, or unmet customer expectations. Either way, you can address any problems in your customer journey before it costs you more money.

Refunds by Geo

This report shows you where your refunds are coming from geographically.

Break down refunds by country, state, or city to spot regional patterns:

If one region has unusually high refund rates, you might have shipping issues, unclear product descriptions for that market, or other location-specific problems worth investigating.

All reports let you change date ranges, toggle between Revenue and Purchases views (when available), export to PDF, and use the Site Notes feature to track important events or changes.
