Occasionally, users are presented with the following error prompt:
MonsterInsights has detected that it’s files are being blocked. This is usually caused by a adblock browser plugin (particularly uBlock Origin), or a conflicting WordPress theme or plugin…
This is almost always caused by one of two things. Very rarely, this is caused by plugin conflict. Usually this is caused by a user installed browser plugin. Some users install browser plugins like adblock plugins (uOrigin, AdblockPlus), privacy enhancements (Ghostery), and similar. These plugins can conflict by blocking MonsterInsights’s admin files. In this case you need to whitelist the plugins so they don’t affect your domain.
Here’s how to whitelist a domain for various browser extensions:
uBlock / uBlock Origin
- Click the uBlock / uBlock Origin icon.
- Click the “power” button in the menu that appears to whitelist the current web site.
- Click the reload icon to reload the page you were viewing.
Adblock Plus
- Click the Adblock Plus icon.
- Click “Enabled on this site” to disable ad blocking for the current site.
- In Firefox Click “disable on {yoururl}.com” to disable ad blocking.
- Reload the page you were viewing.
Firefox Tracking Protection
- In Firefox “Tracking Protection” may activate our adblock notice. It can be temporarily disabled for a browsing session by clicking the “shield” icon in the url bar if visible and following the instructions.
Adblock
- Click the Ad Block icon.
- Click “Don’t run on pages on this domain”.
- Reload the page you were viewing.
Ghostery

- In Ghostery versions < 6.0 Click “Whitelist site”.
- In Ghostery version 7.0 click “trust site”
- In Versions < 6.0 You will see the message “Site is whitelisted”. Click “reload the page to see your changes.”
- Reload the page you were viewing.
Disconnect

NoScript
Because of NoScript’s flexibility, it can be a lot of work to get the correct results. We recommend using a different tool. If you must, use the ABE and closely follow their FAQ and documentation.
Avira Browser Safety
We recommend using a different tool.
Corporate, Governmental and Institutional Network content filtering, hosts files and JavaScript blocking
Blocking sites via a firewall, router, hosts file or other software, depending on the configuration, may cause the adblocking notice to appear because they are blocking the files and scripts required to display ads.
Note that if you are using a combination of extensions, you may need to reload several times to achieve whitelisting.
