Have you purchased a MonsterInsights license but haven’t received your purchase receipt or license key yet? This is usually a straightforward issue to fix. In this guide, we’ll show you how to find out what happened to your purchase receipt so you can get started with MonsterInsights.
First, you may want to wait about 5-15 minutes after your purchase to give the receipt time to land in your email inbox. If it’s still missing, we’re here to help.
Usually, a purchase receipt is missing for one of two reasons:
- The payment method used was PayPal eCheck.
- The email we sent didn’t reach you.
Here’s what you can do.
1. If You Used PayPal eCheck
When using PayPal, there are a lot of different methods you can use to fund your PayPal account. You use your bank account or credit card, you can transfer money to your PayPal account manually, and more. Most of these methods work flawlessly. But there is one (major) exception: PayPal eCheck.
PayPal describes its eCheck service as follows:
An eCheck is a payment that you make directly from your bank account. Just like a regular check, it usually takes between 3 and 5 business days for an eCheck to clear and the money to appear in the recipient’s PayPal account.
This basically means that we don’t receive your payment from PayPal for 6-10 business days. If you’ve paid using eCheck less than 10 business days ago, it’s extremely likely we haven’t received your payment yet. Unfortunately we cannot see a detailed status until we’ve received your payment, so please refer to PayPal for updates during this period.
Once the payment has been credited to our account, our system will automatically complete your purchase and send you the purchase receipt as well as allow you access to the downloads and license key.
If your payment hasn’t cleared and you haven’t received your purchase receipt after 10 business days, please feel free to contact us about your payment.
2. If You Still Haven’t Received Your Purchase Receipt
Right after we’ve received your (cleared) payment, we send a purchase receipt to the email address entered during checkout. This purchase receipt email contains your license information, download links for the plugins, and other important information. Since the email is sent almost instantly, you should usually receive it within a couple of minutes.
If you haven’t, please check your spambox first, since aggressive spam filtering can sometimes mark legitimate emails as spam.
If your purchase receipt isn’t there either, there are two important options to check:
- Does your email provider or web host accept email from monsterinsights.com?
- Have you entered the correct email address?
For the first issue, you’ll need to check with your email service provider.
