The following sites must be accessible for MonsterInsights to work:
- google-analytics.com
- MonsterInsights.com
- AwesomeMotive.com
- googleapis.com
- miusage.com
- google.com
The first is used for measurement protocol, the next 3 are updates and reports functionality, and the last one is reports from GA as well.
If your site is on a private network you’ll probably need to contact your server administrator of your company’s private network and make connection from the site possible to those site.
If your web hosting company has a firewall, you’ll need to contact the web host to whitelist those domains.
90X Errors During Setup
Are you seeing errors while running the wizard, such as an error starting with 9, or seeing text such as “Unable to retrieve settings”.
You might be running a version of TLS that is either outdated or too new and is not fully supported yet.
The following recommendation to resolve this error is to ensure that you are using TLS 1.2. This is the most supported version currently, and can be set within your website hosting provider’s dashboard.
If you are unable to locate the setting, you may need to contact your hosting provider to make the update for you.
