How To Check For Plugin Conflicts

MonsterInsights uses WordPress best practices to be as compatible as possible with other plugins. But sometimes other developers don’t also follow these standards. As a result, there can be occasional theme or plugin conflicts with MonsterInsights.

In this article, we’ll show you how to determine if the problem you’re experiencing with MonsterInsights is caused by a theme or plugin conflict. If you find that your problem persists after following these steps, please contact support.

How to Test for Plugin Conflicts

To test for a plugin conflict, follow these steps:

  1. Deactivate all non-MonsterInsights plugins.
  2. Switch to a default WordPress theme like Twenty Seventeen.
  3. Test to see if the problem still exists.

What to Do if the Problem No Longer Exists

If deactivating non-MonsterInsights plugins resolves the issue, that means you have a plugin conflict between our plugin and something on your site.

Here’s how to find out what’s causing the problem:

  1. Activate one deactivated plugin. Test to see if the problem still exists.
  2. Repeat step 1 for every plugin.
  3. Switch back to your theme. Test to see if the problem still exists.

Once you discover which plugin is causing the issue, you can report the conflict to the developer of the conflicting plugin or theme, and file a bug report for our development team.

What to Do if the Problem Remains

Please file a bug report so we can look into the issue.
